ONE-DAY BRIEFS
UNIVERSITY PROJECTS
Print, Illustration & Typography
During my third year at Birmingham City University, there were some smaller briefs offered that would take a few hours to finish. They were often in between the larger coursework projects. These were meant to promote quick thinking and were shared with the year group after the time was up.
Fact Poster
The challenge for this was create a poster design that would visually communicate a random fact given. Mine was “air pollution is more deadly than smoking.”
Protest Shirt
The challenge for this was to create a shirt for Gen Z activists that tackles a current social issue. Only red, black and white were allowed to be used. I decided to create a design that protests against the current rise in living costs.
Object-based Typography
The challenge for this was to create a typeface based on one of forty design objects. I was given the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and based the letter forms on the building’s structure.
