DESIGN BRIDGE THE START 2023

This was the outcome for, design agency, Design Bridge’s The Start 2023. The challenge was to create any sort of design that would help address an issue. A random brand, audience and issue was provided. I had to find a way for Nintendo to address accessibility to parents. 

The primary idea I had for this brief was to create a new assistive controller for disabled gamers that can easily fit into the Nintendo Switch’s current accessory lineup. Research into accessibility in the gaming industry led me to find that Nintendo didn’t have an official assistive tech offering, unlike the other industry leaders, PlayStation and Xbox.

With the help from previous study, I fully designed and mocked up the product and all of its included features. I created packaging that is in line with Nintendo’s current Switch accessories, along with some colour variants. A new logo was created specifically for the product and falls in line with the current Switch aesthetic. I also animated a reveal trailer for the product that goes over all of the important features that the audience would want to know about.
