CLIMATE CRISIS

CREATIVE CONSCIENCE AWARDS 2022

Motion Graphics

Climate Crisis was one of the competition briefs for the Creative Conscience Awards 2022. The challenge was to create a moving image outcome using the audio from a 2015 Spaceship Earth podcast interview featuring Sir Ken Robinson talking about the current global issues we face.

I worked on this project with another graphic designer. My role was to come up with and work on the visuals and animation within the first half of the video. I also did the audio mixing for the voiceover

Our idea for the video was to show the viewer how the effects of climate change have worsened over the decades. We chose to focus on four main eras including the pre-industrial age, the 1900s, modern day and the future. Each section uses a different style of animation that progressively gets more advanced, just as technology has. There is a constant that links each section, the quote “And it’s not like we’ve got forever to figure it out” was repeated to keep reminding the viewer that time is running out. The final use of the quote cuts off, signifying that the chance to save the planet has run out.
