VIRTUALAXY

This was the second major writing project of my course. The theme I wrote about was ‘the hyper-connected world’ within the context of graphic design. The essay was to be presented within a sixteen-page magazine that was themed and designed around the topics written about. I also created an animated front cover.

Within the topic of ‘the hyper-connected world’ I chose write about the metaverse specifically and how it would impact design. The visuals were based on this heavily with a focus on individuals with headsets being wired into technology. The simple vector illustrative style is supposed to represent how the metaverse is still in its early stages of development. 

To add an additional interactive aspect to the cover and to link with some metaverse topics like augmented reality, I decided to turn the animated cover into an Artivive art piece. I’ve made it so whenever you view an image of the front cover in the Artivive app it will overlay the animated version in real time.
